Inclusive climbing is about facilitating people to overcome their barriers to get into the sport of climbing. To break down those barriers we can help improve the environment and knowledge of those operating in it. 

Support and Technical Advice Services


The safety of your activities and venues, climbing walls or sites, as well as people who use it are of principal concern to you and us. Whether you have a large commercial wall, a small operation or volunteer programme our expertise can help you provide accessible activities and train staff or team members on how provide safe inclusive climbing activities,


 We can offer the following:

  • Solutions and ideas for accessible activities, inclusive climbing and disability rock climbing sports, tailoring them to your site.
  • Give answers and assist any with any technical questions around equipment you may or do use. 
  • Advise on NGB delivery to ensure inclusive and diversity.
  • Train staff on how to provide inclusive climbing activities specific to the venue.
  • Train reception staff.
  • Activity site audit and consultancy.


Site specific training could be:

  • Ropes course.
  • Man-made outdoor venues/indoor climbing walls/structures.
  • Single pitch rock venues.
  • Advanced rope work for coasteering (Tyrolean’s, hand lines etc.).


As experts in our profession, we have significant experience in activities and are specialists in introducing accessible activities and inclusive climbing sports into the mainstream environment. Our knowledge and experiences of impairments or disabilities as well as understanding how they can be catered for in sport means we can work with individuals and organisations to provide their clients better, safer support in their chosen adventure and create more inclusive sport.


We are dedicated to sharing technical knowledge, advice and instruction in adventurous sport, all to enable people to be safe whilst they partake in their chosen sport and head out on great adventures.


Any training/advice can be done in conjunction with other staff training/risk assessment:

  • HSE paperwork requirements, regulations and legal obligations.
  • AALA adventurous activity licencing support.


Gilligan and Team are members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and listed on the Technical Advisors Register. We are specialists in site specific support for all parts of inclusive climbing activities and authors of the Inclusive Climbing Manual as well contributor writers to MTA book with the production of the Adaptive Climbing chapter.
