Mountain Training Schemes

Do you want to gain qualifications in mountaineering sports or become a qualified Rock Climbing Instructor/Mountain Leader?

This is an opportunity for anyone with an impairment or disability to gain qualifications in the outdoor sector. We work in partnership with Mountain Training course provider Mckinlay Mountaineering for inclusive training and assessing of national governing body qualifications. This advice and arrangement is to make the experience more streamlined for those with disabilities or impairments.

In conjunction with the above...

Mountain Training England unveiled an huge opportunity and step forward to breaking down the barriers of disability; an amazing grant scheme and drive to support individuals in unimpeded access and equal opportunities to gain outdoor qualifications. The "Access to Mountain Training Fund" will offer and can be used for one of the following:

  • up to 80% of the course cost,
  • a contribution to the cost of a teaching assistant,
  • we’re inviting applicants to tell us what they need.

Please bear in mind the funding is only for Mountain Training courses, not bespoke training.

Also Mountain Training have created a "Reasonable adjustment guidance" for individuals to have unimpeded access and equal opportunities to attend Mountain Training leadership courses.
